Honours 2024 started at full force and time has absolutely flown by! I cannot believe that it is already May. The lecturers are so encouraging and inspirational. It is a privilege to be exposed to professionals in the field, who have achieved great things, yet remain so humble. My supervisor and co-supervisor are incredibly supportive, and care deeply about my personal growth. Often times, my brain feels so full, as though it cannot take in another piece of information, which just shows how much we are learning, and being exposed to daily.  I am so grateful for how much I have already learnt, and there is still so much more growth to come, hopefully. Getting to know my peers has been a wonderful blessing, we all have different backgrounds, passions, and goals, and are able to encourage each other each step of the way. They inspire me to work hard. This year is teaching me how to achieve my goals, highlighting my passions and acting as a catalyst of ideas in how I am potentially able to help people through medical research. I am thankful to be working on a research project which I care deeply about, it drives me to work harder and reminds me how lucky I am to be involved in a research team conducting such impactful studies. So much has yet to be revealed this year, and I look forward to tackling it head on with determination. I am so thankful for this opportunity of Neuroscience honours at UCT 2024!

I totally concur, this year is quite special, different from anything we’ve been exposed to, and the experiences have been so rich!! Looking forward to a great year!
