This year, I’ve learned the hard way about taking on too much. I was often late, juggling too many extracurriculars. After a good chat with Prof. Gibbon, I realized it’s better to do a few things really well rather than everything just okay. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m trying to keep that in mind.

Time management has also been a struggle. No one else is going to push me to meet deadlines, and I’ve learned that it’s up to me to chip away at tasks bit by bit. Long-term deadlines still trip me up sometimes, but I’m getting a little better each day.

One thing that stood out this year was the focus on research skills in my honours program. I’ve tried to soak up as much of that as I can. It’s been challenging, but I’ve grown a lot in how I approach my work.

Personally, it’s been a year of change too. Moving from medicine to honours meant losing some old friends, but also gaining new ones. Both were beautiful experiences in their own way, and I feel like I’ve grown through it all.
