Honours has been a whirlwind of emotions there are some days where I wake up feeling like I am on top of the world and others where I question everything. I’ve learned to have faith in myself while accepting my flaws.

Every single day, I feel incredibly fortunate to be here. When I first started the Honours program at UCT, I genuinely did not know what to expect. Yet, this experience has truly opened my eyes to the fact that we’re constantly surrounded by some of the most inspiring individuals I’ve ever met. It’s my belief that you should not be going through this journey solo.

My time here has shown me that there are infinite opportunities whether it is related to work, social, creative spaces, and/or beyond. What really stands out to me is the incredible work being done across every corner of the university. I’ve been fortunate enough to engage with so many people from very different fields and hearing about their research, their personal journeys and aspirations. It’s crazy to think in terms of our own careers this is still just the beginning.

Honours has been extremely transformative, especially in expanding my way of thinking. It’s been wicked.
