Time flies when you’re having fun—or should I say, when you’re working hard, learning new skills, and stepping out of your comfort zone. I cannot believe that we are already in July and nearing the end of this honours year. With exams just behind us, I’ve had some time to rest and reflect on my journey so far. What a rollercoaster it has been!
At the start of the year, I didn’t know what to expect. Coming from a different university to a new campus with new people and embarking on a Neuroscience honours degree felt daunting, even now as I say it, it still feels daunting. I’ve had moments of feeling overwhelmed, grappling with self-doubt and stress. However, I’ve also experienced immense gratitude for the opportunity to be part of this program. My fellow students have been incredibly friendly and supportive, and I can see the growth in myself and in them as we persevere through this challenging, yet exciting year. With only a few months to go and a thesis still to complete, which brings its own set of challenges, I am gaining confidence in my ability to conquer this next hurdle. I am immensely grateful for the support from my lecturers, supervisors, friends, and family that have helped me through this year and believe in me. I am excited for the final stretch of my neuroscience honours journey and look forward to the challenges, hard work, and joy that I am sure await me.
I wish us all the best of luck and know that we are all capable of achieving great things!
